View
Safeguarding risk assessments help an institution assess the strengths and risks they face relating to safeguarding policies, procedures, personnel, programmes, etc.

The Safeguarding Focal Point person populates the risk assessment template, supported by representatives from other departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Monitoring and Evaluation. The  risk assessment team:

  • Ensures an institution-wide focus on all potential risk exposures;
  • Integrates the safeguarding risk assessment into other institutional risk management processes. Many institutions use the ISO 31000: 2018 Risk Management process, and;
  • Collects, analyses and reports on the assessment results to Senior Management and the Board.
