3.1.8. Scenario Analysis 2
Consider the following scenario and attempt the tasks outlined:
A
girl was born with a hearing impairment but was not sent to school. Her family
did not talk to her as they thought deafness was a sign of being stupid and a
shame on the whole family. As a result, she used to stare at people’s faces
closely to try to understand what they were saying. When she turned 12, boys
thought that her staring was an invitation and she got pregnant. The family blamed
her.
Tasks:
- What are your reflections on this case?
- What could have been done / can be done to keep her safe?
