2.2.2 Importance of recognising equity in gender and social Inclusion
From the Economic Inclusion module, we acknowledge that universal accessibility is very rare and that we are striving toward it. At present, an equitable approach will help us get there.
An equitable approach recognises that everyone encounters different barriers to Economic Inclusion. Therefore, taking an equitable approach recognizes structural inequality in a labour market. It also seeks to adjust for this structural inequality by adjusting processes, systems and practices.
Moreover, equity is about creating fair, personalised access to opportunity at work; whether that is during recruitment or for current employees.
In your opinion, why is gender and social inclusion important to consider and integrate into skill-building opportunities? Write or speak out your reasons.
