2.3.6. Behavioural Change
Behavioural change interventions refer to changes in behaviours, attitudes and perceptions that drive actions within and between individuals, and within and between work groups that support or hinder diversity goals.
Targeted behaviour changes range from hostile to thoughtless actions that promote micro-inequities such as inappropriate language, humour and stereotyping. These behaviours are likely to cause exclusion. A common intervention to address individual behaviour change is through education and training.
The following guiding questions may be used when introducing behaviour change in an organisation:
- What solutions can address behavioural change related to gender and social inclusion in an organisation or workplace?
- What solutions can address behavioural change related to gender and social inclusion in courses offered by TVET/HE institutions?
