Technology is here to stay, and it is transforming the online learning space. With it, there come opportunities for harm, which need to be proactively addressed.
Digital Safeguarding is the protection from harm in the online environment through the implementation of effective technical solutions, advice and support and procedures for managing incidents.
As institutions increase the pace of adoption of e-learning, concerted efforts are needed in safeguarding the safety and well-being of all persons who will access or provide the learning services in the online platforms.
By conducting a self-risk assessment, and identifying strategies for mitigation, institutions will be better placed to face the digital safeguarding challenges that confront them.
