It is important to conduct GESI assessments so as to:

• Understand the current level of gender responsiveness across an organisation, in order to make evidence-based decisions;
• Understand what the organisation is good at;
• Understand what areas of improvement there might be, and;
• Allow an organisation to take an individualised approach to action planning;
