Economic Inclusion: Introductory Remarks

Welcome to the training on Safeguarding, Economic Inclusion, Gender Equality and Social InclusionThis module focuses on the Economic Inclusion to promote access to employment for women, low-income youth and persons  with disabilities in Kenya.

This training is provided under the Skills for Prosperity Kenya Programme, which aims to improve the quality, relevance, and equity of Higher Education (HE) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Kenya. 

The topics covered in this module include:

1) An introduction to economic inclusion, 

2) Improving graduate employment, and 

3) Partnering with employers to improve diversity, equity and inclusion.

By The end of this module the learner should be able to:

  • Defines Economic Inclusion (EI)

  • Describe why EI is important

  • Describe  the role of employers, TVET and Higher Education in promoting Economic Inclusion

  • Outline barriers and solutions, especially in relation to persons with disabilities, women and youth
