An effective and sustainable digital safeguarding response is informed by a self-assessment. A sample self-assessment tool that can be used is available at  University of Suffolk  The tool gives a mapping of the self-assessment as illustrated in the diagram below.

Depending on the gaps identified from the self-assessment, the institution needs to put in place an action plan with defined resources and responsibilities for addressing the gaps.The actions need to be monitored regularly for implementation and adjustments made as necessary. the table below is an illustration of how an action plan may look like
